Approach and orientation

My initial training was in Integrative Psychotherapy. I have subsequently trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness. Drawing on my years of experience I work with each individual client to plan a course of therapy to meet their unique individual needs.

Philosophy on counselling and psychotherapy

While everyone experiences ups and downs in life, sometimes people reach a point where they feel overwhelmed, stressed or stuck, and cannot see a way forward. This is when therapy can help. Counselling and psychotherapy allows space to reflect, to develop self-understanding and self-confidence and ultimately help people to lead freer, happier and more fulfilling lives.

As every person is unique, my approach varies depending on the needs of each individual. For some people, simply having the space to talk and reflect within the supportive and confidential therapeutic relationship is what they need. While other people also find that strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) can be very helpful. For those with issues from past traumatic or distressing events, I find that EMDR is a highly effective technique for resolving symptoms.
