What do I Offer?

As a mediator I help couples to manage their separation and its consequences. I provide a safe and confidential environment in which suitable arrangements for the family can be explored. This often includes having conversations about future arrangements for the care of children and the best way to co-parent when the family no longer share the same home. I can help couples to structure an agreed parenting plan for their children which can be followed and if necessary, adapted in future years.

Frequently it will also be necessary to make financial arrangements. I guide couples through an exercise during which they each gather information about their financial positions, sharing this in mediation and then discussing together how best to distribute assets and liabilities; considering the impact this will have on each person moving forwards. During mediation I provide unbiased legal information. I encourage and enable constructive communication so mutually acceptable decisions can be made by couples, without having to go to court. When agreements are reached I will record this in a document called a Memorandum of Understanding and each person will be provided with a copy of this.

Separation can be a very painful time. Successful mediation can minimise conflict for the family as well as saving time and money.
