Experience

I’ve been working with clients since 2014, during which time I have worked with both short and long term clients with a variety of different issues.  Through over twenty years of personal Jungian Analysis I have developed extensive experience of working with the unconscious, dream interpretation and the analytic process.  I have developed experience of applying these skills and working psychodynamically to resolve psychological problems, support people’s personal development, and improve their experience of life.

What do I offer?

I offer depth analytical psychotherapy for adult individuals.  This approach can be helpful with a wide variety of issues including:

Relationship issues
Burnout / work problems / nervous breakdown
Work related issues
Anxiety/ stress, depression/ post-natal depression
Trauma, difficult childhood/ historic problems
Mid-life crisis / the search for meaning in life
Transition and crisis
Loss/ bereavement
Spiritual and religious concerns
Low or fluctuating self-esteem

Approach and orientation

I offer both short and long-term psychotherapy.  This can either be time-limited or follow an evolving and open-ended psychotherapy that is exploratory and allows changes to evolve in their own time.  Jungian therapy is a form of psychodynamic psychotherapy which is based upon the interaction of drives and forces within the person, particularly from the unconscious. Analytical psychotherapy centers on the relationship of the individual with their inner life. Attention and concentration is given to dreams, fantasies and other manifestations of the unconscious. This process has a healing and balancing effect on the mind.

Philosophy on Counselling and Psychotherapy

As a therapist, my role is to listen, to accept and support you through your difficulties. You will know that what you say is shared in a safe space and is held in complete confidence.  Modern life can lead us to lose contact with our inner self. Therapy can provide the space to re-evaluate our lives and values, to solve problems and to restore our connection with our inner self.  My view of therapy is that it is there to assist people in becoming more aware of themselves – more conscious.  This may not always be easy but the challenge can bring great benefits through the way in which a person relates to others and towards themselves.
