Introduction
I am an empathic and compassionate integrative therapist. My core modality is person centred, but I integrate psychodynamic aspects in my work. I am committed to working with you to realise changes and goals you want to make in your life.
I provide a warm, welcoming space to speak freely and openly without judgement. I work in a way where the therapeutic relationship is a main focus. Every person is different, so I seek to provide an individualised service.
Therapy can help in many areas such as facing change or transition and processing loss or trauma. Whatever the reason that you have decided to seek out counselling, I can provide the space to learn about yourself and express difficulties. It may be that you lack confidence, a voice, or even the words. Understanding this together can make the difference. Facing difficulties with increased understanding and acceptance can often help find new ways to manage emotions and circumstances more effectively and in a more balanced way.
I believe wholeheartedly that you are the expert on yourself and I am a companion in this process of making sense of what it is that is troubling you, in a way that feels right for you. I believe that healing and change take place within a person when the right conditions are given. Being seen, heard, and listened to have such a powerful impact.
My aim is to provide this kind of environment for you to freely explore concerns in your life. I am a great believer that people have the ability for self-healing. With acceptance, empathy, and congruence I believe transformation can take place.
‘It’s an awful risky thing to live’ – Carl Rogers
I have experience working with adults and young people in a variety of counselling organisations. This included children’s homes in the social care sector working with complex needs and in Zambia working on local projects within the community.
