I have Professional Liability insurance and I have an enhanced DBS.
What do I offer?
I offer long term and short-term counselling for adults and young people.
Approach and orientation
I am an integrative therapist. My core modality is person centred, but I draw on and integrate some psychodynamic aspects in my work. I am an empathic and compassionate counsellor committed to working with you in realising the changes and goals you want to make in your life. I provide a warm, welcoming space to speak freely and openly without judgement. I work in a way where the therapeutic relationship is one of the main focuses. Every person is different, so I seek to provide an individual service to suit you and your needs.
Therapy can help in many areas such as, facing change or transition and processing loss or trauma. Whatever the reason that you have decided to seek out counselling, I can provide the space to learn about yourself and express difficulties.
It may be that you lack confidence, a voice, or even the words, and understanding this together can make the difference. Facing difficulties with increased understanding and acceptance can often help find new ways to manage emotions and circumstances more effectively and in a more balanced way.
Philosophy on counselling and psychotherapy
I believe wholeheartedly that you are the expert on yourself and I am a companion in
this process of making sense of what it is that is troubling you, in a way that feels
right for you. I believe that healing and change takes place within a person when the
right conditions our given. Being seen, heard, and listened to have such a powerful
impact and my aim is to provide this kind of environment for you so you can freely
explore current concerns in your life. I am a great believer that people have the ability
for self-healing. I have a holistic view of people and see people as whole beings but in
some form or another our experiencing distress within their lives, with acceptance,
empathy, and congruence I believe transformation will take place and that
transformation will be and look like whatever it will be for that individual.
