I am covered by professional insurance and abide by the codes of ethics of the BPS, UKCP, BACP and the Metanoia Institute.
I am a member of BPS, UKCP, and BACP.
I have been in private practice since 2009, beginning in Paris and since 2012 in the UK. Over the years I have held clinical roles in various counselling and psychotherapy services in London giving me exposure to a wide range of clients with their unique and varied needs. I provide assessment and intake support to a counselling service in Henley-on-Thames and work in the NHS facilitating groups of adults diagnosed with ADHD.
What do I offer?
I offer short and long term counselling and psychotherapy to clients. As my underlying philosophy is that each individual is unique and irreplaceable, I work with clients to discover the particular issues that may be contributing to them feeling out of synch with themselves or their worlds of work, relationship, family or simply with life in general.
Approach and orientation:
Because I value each individual so highly I have chosen to work integratively. This means that what guides our work together is first and foremost what is meaningful for you, the client, rather than you having to fit in to a particular model of counselling. In our first session, we would explore what is concerning you and decide together how we would like to work together going forward.
Philosophy on counselling and psychotherapy:
I believe that life can sometimes get muddled and we lose track of who we are and where we are going; we become strangers to ourselves. Or life hands us a crisis or a trauma that brings us to our knees, overwhelming our formerly reliable coping skills. Talking with another human being who is non-judgemental, on our side, and wanting to understand what it is like for us can be a great oasis in the middle of what feels like an emotional desert. Counselling helps you to make sense of what is happening and to explore what might need changing to make things better.
